Connect Trylora to the Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property that measures your Shopify store. This lets Trylora send successful try-on and animation events into your existing GA4 property.

What Trylora needs

To activate event delivery, Trylora needs two values from the same GA4 web stream:
  • Measurement ID — a public identifier that starts with G-
  • Measurement Protocol API secret — a secret credential used by Trylora’s server to send events
The GA4 property ID is not required to activate event delivery. Trylora asks for it only when preparing reports, together with property-level Analyst access.

Before you begin

You need:
  • A GA4 property that measures your Shopify store
  • A Google account with the Editor or Administrator role for that GA4 property
Confirm that Shopify sends data to this GA4 property. Follow Shopify’s Google Analytics 4 setup guide to connect it.

1. Open the Shopify web stream

In Google Analytics:
  1. Select the GA4 property used by your Shopify store.
  2. Open Admin → Data collection and modification → Data streams.
  3. Select Web, then open the stream used by your Shopify store.

2. Create the two connection values

1

Copy the Measurement ID

Copy the Measurement ID from the web stream details. It starts with G-.
2

Create an API secret

Open Measurement Protocol API secrets. Accept the user-data acknowledgement if Google displays it, then select Create.
3

Copy the secret

Enter Trylora as the nickname, create the secret, and copy the generated Secret value.
The Measurement ID and API secret must come from the same web stream. Google’s API secret instructions show the current GA4 interface.

3. Send the values securely

Send Trylora:
  • Your Shopify store URL
  • The GA4 Measurement ID
  • The Measurement Protocol API secret
Treat the API secret as a password. Do not place it in Shopify theme code, a documentation URL, a support chat, or an email. Ask your Trylora contact for the secure credentials link, then submit the secret there.
You may send the store URL and Measurement ID by email. After the secure submission is received, Trylora will save the API secret in encrypted form, enable the connection, and confirm when it is ready.

4. Verify event delivery

  1. Wait for Trylora to confirm that the connection is enabled.
  2. Complete a new try-on on the storefront.
  3. In GA4, open Reports → Realtime and confirm that trylora_tryon_succeeded appears.
  4. Generate a new animation and confirm that trylora_animation_succeeded appears.

5. Grant reporting access

If Trylora will prepare analytics reports for your store, also provide the GA4 property ID and grant admin@trylora.app the property-level Analyst role. The property ID is a numeric value shown in Admin → Property settings → Property details.

Grant Trylora Analyst access

Follow the reporting-access guide and send the requested property details.
